I Know You Better Than You Do

April 21st, 2012

I was dicing a mango for C after dinner. I told her that it looks so good that I’ll probably eat it all up. “I know you better than you do.” was her reply. Hmm, how long has she known me?

It’s true though, I always save the best (bite) for C. She does know me pretty well.

Spring Skiing

April 15th, 2012

Daddy’s birthday is always around the kids’ spring break. We’ve been to Hawaii a few times for his birthday. This year we decided to go for more skiing. The rain/snow came very late. We got to enjoy a lot of snow in the middle of April.

For 3 days straight, the kids went skiing and improved. The first day we were on Big and Easy. C really enjoyed racing with me. The next day, we moved up to Comstock. At the end of the day, K and C made a huge snow ball. The third day we were on Vista Express. C did some blues all by herself. K even did a very dark blue (almost black) trail. I had tried to encourage C to go to the blue trail a lot. Every time I’ve mentioned it, she would say “I want to try a black trail”. I hope I don’t regret the encouragement in the very near future.

Fooled

March 26th, 2012

When the kids came to brush their teeth in the morning, they started telling me all about my breakfast. C said there is an egg for me for my breakfast, daddy is making it. K said it’s already done. C said “Oh Yeah, it’s between 2 plates.”. After they took off for school, I went to open the top plate and found no egg :( .

In the next few days, I kept asking C if there is an egg for me. C honestly told me there is no egg for me.

Girls’ Day Out

March 19th, 2012

The boys had Little League Opening Day. C and I had the time all to ourselves. After church, I took her to have brunch at Joanie’s and she loved it. I ordered the Belgium Waffle with fruits with added eggs and sausages. She ate almost all the eggs and sausages, a quarter of the waffle, and almost all the fruits! She kept on saying “This is my favorite day!”. Because it was so windy out, we didn’t go check out the farmer’s market. I took her to make photo copies of some documents. She was so helpful in organizing the papers together.

We went to the mall after the quick errand. The first stop was at Sprinkles. C was so excited to get the cupcake by whispering the secret word. Of course she picked another one with something pink on top. We went to the market next door to get some of our favorite yogurts. My friend T invited me to the Friends and Family sale at Banana Republic. I told C to pick out some tops for daddy. She pointed out the dressy shirts, suits, and pants. When I told her that those are not daddy’s style, she got bored. She became very excited when I said let’s go pick out something for mommy. She went around to find her favorites things in my size, like a sheer black top or a bright orange cardigan. She was so patient and diligent in looking for sizes for me, that I almost didn’t have the heart to tell her that I didn’t like the style or the color. . When we were done, I told her that we should go pick out something for her at the department store. Too bad all the toys were gone. She was disappointed that we didn’t find anything for her, but was still patient enough to go get some skin care products with me. That’s my girl, always so good and so easy-going.

We worked on her Friend of the Week when we got home (after eating the cupcakes :) . She put “eggs” as her favorite food. I hope we’d have time to do this girls’ day out again soon.

What the Kids Said About the New Car

March 13th, 2012

I drove the kids home in the new car yesterday. C said to me “This new car is pretty nice!”. I said I thought you didn’t like it. She said she didn’t like the rental we got. I guess that one is a bit taller than this new one.

When K got out of the car in the garage, he commented “The Audi smells bad!”. I think the outside paint still smells pretty strong. I guess it’s got the brand new smell inside and outside.

Helpful C and The Minivan

March 10th, 2012

The boys have started Little League baseball practices on Mondays. C and I have some time to ourselves on Monday evening. As promised, I picked her up from after school and took her to the local farmer’s market. She loves getting a sweet treat there.

After getting her sweet treat and some veggies, we went outside to get a rotisserie chicken from the Rolli truck. C also wanted to get the potatoes (she couldn’t decide to call them potatoes or tomatoes). She was so helpful that she helped me hold both the chicken and the potatoes. While we shopped and walked, she told me that she likes the minivan so much. The new car would be too tall for her to jump off. I told her that she’d grow tall so fast. She’s quite attached to the minivan, especially the DVD system on it. The minivan is also as old as she is.

C was so helpful once we got home. She took the initiative to set up the table while I prepared the salad. We were ready to eat as soon as the boys got home. She’d be the perfect girl if she’d eat her dinner faster!

Award for K

February 29th, 2012

K’s teacher emailed me and told me that K would be getting the Awesome Eagle Award at the assembly on Friday. That really made my day! K’s teacher is quite strict and K really struggled in the beginning of the school year.

She said “I am so happy to be giving him this award! He has really worked hard to become a responsible student.”

Mask

February 28th, 2012

I used some sheet mask because the skin got so dry in high altitude. At the restaurant yesterday, K cut out some holes in the napkin and put it on his face as his sheet mask.

C was helping me with laundry. I said to her “You can do laundry, you know how to cook, you sweep the floor. You’re ready to get married”. “I don’t want to get married, mommy”, she replied. I hope she stays so sweet forever.

Skiing

February 26th, 2012

Just got back from a fun ski trip. K was making turns on some blue runs with good speed control. He said he wants to try snowboarding next. C made a lot of progress, too. She skiied down the blue trail really fast the first time. She didn’t want to go by herself the second time, had to hold on to daddy’s poles.

C and I went back to the easier green trail. She wanted to race me each time. After the last run of the day, she told me a snowboarder cheered her on. I asked what s/he said. “Go girl!”, she said proudly.

Dental Appointment

February 21st, 2012

Took K and C to the dentist in the morning. So glad they don’t have any cavities. One has good bite crowd issue. One has over bite no crowd issue. During lunch, C asked me “I already brushed my teeth twice today, I don’t have to brush my teeth before bed, right?”.
